The PLO Africa mentorship program
The Africa Mentorship Program is a flagship program of the PLO Lumumba Foundation that seeks to nurture and mentor young Africans as servant leaders to lead a transformational change in their communities and country. The Program recognizes the need for guiding, coaching and nurturing the leadership potentials of young people with servant leadership ideals and ethical values.
Our Objective
The general objective of the Africa Mentorship Program is to nurture young Africans as a servant youth leaders championing transformational change in Africa premised on; Pan African ideals, technology, entrepreneurship, agriculture, culture, education, among others. Over the past six months, the A.M.P is delivering this objective in thirty countries in Africa and beyond, involving over nine hundred mentees engaging in diverse programs and activities.

Our Activities
1. PLO AFRICA DAY VIRTUAL SEMINAR
During the period under review, an online seminar was held to commemorate the Africa Day on 17th May, 2025 via zoom, under the theme: A New Dawn for Africa; Championing Unity Through Pan-Africanism. This seminar was attended by over eighty mentees on zoom and was followed by about four thousand audience via Facebook. Speakers were; • Ousman Touray, • Mr. Chima Christian, • Dr. Susan Tatah. The event was moderated by Monalisa Kangulu, the PLO-AMP deputy chapter leader for Malawi. The seminar provided a platform for young Africans to join the Foundation in countries we are present.
2. A VISIT TO PLO AFRICA INNOVATION CLUB
The Africa Mentorship Program Coordinator, Razak Awudu together with other leaders of the Ghana Chapter visited the PLO Africa Innovation Club members at the Obuasi Senior High and Technical School in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, on 15th May, 2025 to interact with the students and club members of eighty-one. The school management warmly received the delegation and held a brief discussion on the launch of the club in the school on July 25th, 2025. The students were tasked to start with preparatory works for the design and manufacturing of drones, with the support of the Foundation.
3. PAN AFRICAN QUIZ COMPETITION (Continental)
The 3rd edition of the PLO Pan African Quiz Competition is underway. Twelve chapters have registered so far to compete in the group stages, which is set to commence on 21st June, 2025. The purpose of the quiz is to engage the mentees with knowledge on African history, Pan Africanism and current issues in a competitive manner. The final of the quiz is proposed to be scheduled on 1st August, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya barring any unforeseen changes.
4. PLO AFRICA MENTEES CLUB IN BURKINA FASO
The Burkina Faso Chapter under the leadership of Geoffroy Bonkoungou engaged thirty-two students in Pima International School on the history of African civilizations and ancient kingdoms in Africa, on 7th May, 2025. This was meant educate young Africans on the history and culture of Africa. The students who were glad to be part of the PLO Africa Mentees Club and indicated their commitment to champion Pan African values and ideals.
5. PLO-EDUSA PRINTING SERVICE IN GAMBIA
The Gambia Chapter led by Ebrima H. Secka successfully entered into MOU with the Education Students Association of the University of Gambia, dubbed EDUSA-PLO Printing Service, on 7th March, 2025, to provide affordable printing services to students on campus. This initiated which was supported by the head office, will provide assistance to the chapter, as proceeds from the printing business will be used to support the chapter activities.
6. PLO AFRICA CLOTHING IN LIBERIA
The Liberia Chapter led by Arthur J. Wahwehlee commenced the operation of the PLO Africa Clothing business by purchasing a sewing machine as part of the PLO Africa Business Venture in selected chapters, supported by the head office. The project seeks to produce African clothing to the local market hence generating revenue for the Liberia chapter as well as provide employment opportunity for vulnerable chapter members. The chapter is hopeful to get further support from partners to procure materials such as thread, clothes, etc. in order to commence full operation.
7. PLO AFRICA SHS MENTEES CLUB IN GHANA
The Ghana Chapter led by Anna Nanor successfully launched the PLO Africa Mentees Club in four senior high schools on 23rd May, 2025 in Oda SHS, Akim Oda. The schools were; • Oda Senior High School, • Attafuah Senior High School, • Swedru Senior High • Akim Swedru Senior High The launch was climax with a quiz competition centered on Pan Africanism. At the end of the contest, Oda Senior High School emerged victorious with 42 points. During the event, the AMP Coordinator, Razak Awudu outlined the benefits of the PLO Africa Mentees Club to the general students and encouraged them to keep learning more about Africa.
8. PLO AFRICA TERTIARY CLUB IN GHANA
The Ghana Chapter engaged with eighty-six tertiary students of the University of Education, Winneba, and subsequently launched the PLO Africa Tertiary Club. This was done during the visit of Prof. PLO Lumumba to the University of Education, Winneba on 11th April, 2025. Speaking to the students, the AMP Coordinator outlined the vision and objectives of the PLO Lumumba Foundation and encourage them to actively participate in the activities of the Ghana Chapter.
9. COURTESY VISIT BY THE GREATER SUDAN CHAPTER
The leadership of the Greater Sudan Chapter led by the deputy country director, Deng Aguto paid a courtesy call to the head office of the PLO Lumumba Foundation in Nairobi, Kenya on 17th March, 2025. During the visit, the chairman of the PLO Lumumba Foundation, Prof. PLO Lumumba expressed words of encouragement to the young leaders and charged them to lead positive change in their chapter.
10. PARTICIPTION IN THE NATONAL YOUTH WEEK IN ZAMBIA
The Zambia Chapter led by the deputy country director; Anthony Musenkwile joined other youth groups across Zambia to the official opening of the 2025 National Youth Entrepreneurship Fair on 7th March, 2025 at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre, Lusaka.
11. MENTEES CAPACITY BUILDNG SESSION IN ZAMBIA
The Zambia Chapter held a virtual capacity building session for its mentees and members on 5th April, 2025 via zoom. Speakers included the AMP Coordinator, Razak Awudu, Deputy Chapter leader for Malawi, Monalisa Kangulu, and other leaders of the Zambia chapter.
12. PAN AFRICANISM SEMINAR BY ETHIOPIA CHAPTER
The Ethiopia Chapter led by Abinet Sintayehu organized the maiden Pan-Africanism Seminar, for over 800 participants from across Africa to discuss Pan-African unity, leadership, and self-reliance on 31st January, 2025. With key contributions from Dr. Susan Tatah and Helina Tefera, the seminar fostered collaboration, advocacy, and strategic partnerships to advance Pan-African ideals in Ethiopia and beyond. The attendees were motivated to lead transformational change premised on Pan Africanism in their communities.
13. INTERNATIONAL KISWAHILI CONFERENCE
The Uganda chapter led by Moses Odeke, in partnership with Afrika Mashariki Fest, organized the the International Kiswahili Conference on 14th April, 2025 at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, Kampala. The event was attended by over 2,000 particpants mainly from East Africa. Speakers included Prof. PLO Lumumba, Joramu Nkumbi, etc.
14. THE PLO INNOVATION CLUB OF OBUASI SEC-TECH - DROPS OF HOPE
The PLO Innovation Club of Obuasi Senior High Technical School, guided by its coach and mentors, has developed a creative and practical response a solar-powered Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) capable of producing clean water directly from air moisture. This project demonstrates how youth-led innovation and renewable energy can be harnessed to address real societal challenges while fostering skills in science, technology, and engineering
